THE CEDARS SURGERY
would like to invite you to join DoctorLink.
We have been looking at how we can improve access to Practice services; DoctorLink is our new online service where you can access advice and appointments on line.
Registration is simple and you can register here:
For all urgent appointments, we ask that you undertake a symptom assessment through DoctorLink.
The symptom checker will ask you a number of questions to help to identify your problem.
The outcome of your assessment will direct you to the right treatment, whether emergency care, your GP, nurse or self care.
If your outcome indicates that an appointment is required, you simply click on the request appointment link.
Once the request has been submitted, you will then be contacted by the Practice Team, to arrange an appointment within the identified timeframe (as outlined in the outcome of your symptom checker).
The information you provide will be shared with our clinical team (where appropriate) and will assist in providing robust information of your problem to the required clinical team member prior to your appointment.
You can even download the app:
Our telephone lines are currently very busy and in order for our staff to maintain a safe distance from one another we have reduced the numbers of staff in Reception at the same time. Please help us by using the POD (phone or Healthera App) to order your repeat medication. Please be patient - we will answer your call as soon as possible.
MED3 (sick note)
NHS 111 has established a service for patients who require certification because they are self-isolating in line with government advice. Follow this link:
Please be aware that during the Coronavirus outbreak your prescription may take a little longer than usual. Please be patient with our staff who are working extremely hard under difficult conditions. Thank you.
Please do not book a GP appointment or attend the practice if you, or anyone in your household, have symptoms associated with coronavirus including a new continuous cough or a high temperature.
If you have symptoms associated with coronavirus including a new continuous cough and a high temperature, you are advised to stay at home for 7 days. If you live with other people, they should also stay at home for at least 14 days to avoid spreading the infection outside the home.
If your symptoms are serious, or get worse, NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can tell you if you need further medical help and advise you what to do.
Only call 111 direct if you are advised to do so by the online service or cannot go online.
For the latest coronavirus advice please visit www.nhs.uk/coronavirus.
If you have a cough and/or high temperature do not leave your home for 7 days from when your symptoms started. Do not visit the surgery. Routine face to face GP appointments have been suspended. If you need to speak to a GP then it will be a telephone consultation. No home visits will be made. Essential nursing appointments will continue but annual health checks will be suspended.
If you are concerned that you may have Coronavirus, or may have come into contact with someone who has , the NHS 111 online service has created Coronavirus pages that tell patients what they should do based on their particular circumstances.
These can be accesed at: https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19
From 1st February 2020 our fax machine has been de-commissioned and we are no longer able to send or received messages via fax.

We are now offering our patients appointments on a Saturday morning to have a blood test. Please telephone reception for availability.
Dr Hina Zaidi has joined the practice for the final part of her specialist GP training. She is supported by the rest of our clinical team and is working towards her target of 10 minute appointments - please support her in this by presenting with a single complaint.
Please be aware that when you telephone the Prescription Ordering Direct service to order your medication they will only be able to process medicines which are "on repeat". Medicines which are not on repeat will have to be ordered in writing or in person at the practice. This is to ensure medication is being used appropriately.

Trainees you may see at our surgery:
FY2 - These are fully qualified doctors who have worked at least one year as hospital doctors. They work under supervision.

Your opinion is extremely valuable and we will often request feedback from patients regarding our trainees.
